Erica MacDonald Comments on Federal Sentencing With KSTP-TV

In a news segment for KSTP-TV, business litigation partner Erica MacDonald addressed the federal sentencing of a defendant in a trial regarding child sex trafficking.

MacDonald said, “I think the prosecution in this case is asking for what they believe to be a fair sentence based on the conduct of this defendant and the harm that he caused to these young victims.” She added, “There are sentencing guidelines, and there are statutes and rules that apply to what a fair sentence should be, but in the end, it’s the judge’s discretion as to what that sentence should be and will be.”
