CQ Roll Call reported in a recent article that lawmakers are facing pressure to pass mental health legislations due to several programs that must be extended or reauthorized before the end of the fiscal year in September.
The publication turned to Faegre Drinker Consulting director Megan Herber for insight on the interest of expanding telehealth coverage. The article explains that multiple telehealth flexibilities have been temporarily loosened during the pandemic and that there is bipartisan interest in continuing telehealth coverage.
“What we’re hoping is to get that in an omnibus package,” said Herber. “I think that, honestly, the biggest concern is the CBO [Congressional Budget Office] score.”
