Change, Opportunity in the Post-Pandemic Real Estate Market

Indiana Lawyer

Construction and real estate litigation partner Carl Pebworth and real estate counsel Mark Sausser coauthored an article for the Indiana Lawyer titled, “Change, opportunity in the post-pandemic real estate market,” that breaks down how the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the real estate market and how real estate owners, developers, property managers and builders can adapt.

Pebworth and Sausser detail how owners and developers need to evolve as the workplace model goes through a shift and the need for office space is reduced and how lawyers can help developers be flexible as project plans change. The authors also discuss how the pandemic has caused management and operation challenges for property managers and builders and has increased financial uncertainty in the market. Lastly, the article outlines what lawyers should keep in mind when drafting contracts and leases going forward.
