Increases to Maximum Compensatory Award and Weekly Pay Caps

Employers should be aware of the following increases to unfair dismissal awards with effect from 1 February 2011:

  •  the maximum compensatory award for unfair dismissal will increase from £65,300 to £68,400; and

  •  the maximum week's pay used to calculate statutory redundancy payments and the basic and additional unfair dismissal awards will increase from £380 to £400.
