Kathy Osborn Comments on Antitrust Concerns in Meltdown

The buyouts and consolidations occurring during the financial crisis could consolidate market power in the financial management sector in a way that antitrust laws might frown upon and, in fact, that the FTC or DOJ might disapprove or question in any other economic environment, Kathy Osborn of Baker & Daniels told Law360 in its "Antitrust Concerns a Non-Issue Amid Meltdown" story. "Desperate times lead to desperate measures. It is, however, unlikely that the agencies will question or impede these economy-saving measures given that many are being structured by the federal government itself," Osborn said.
