Final Code Section 409A Regulations: What's New, What's Not Covered and What Do You Do Now?

The Internal Revenue Service finally has issued the long-awaited final regulations under Internal Revenue Code section 409A. The regulations were originally proposed in 2005 and were the subject of considerable comments by employers and practitioners. Plans and arrangements generally must be amended for compliance with the final regulations on or before December 31, 2007.
