Rules of the Road in Investigating and Disclosing Overpayments

Washington, D.C., partner Jesse Witten will participate in an American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA) panel titled, “Rules of the Road in Investigating and Disclosing Overpayments,” on Tuesday, October 7 in Baltimore.

Jesse will be joined on the panel by Tiana Korley, principal healthcare fraud analyst at MITRE. They will discuss,  what an overpayment is, when is it “identified,” how is it quantified, and how far back must we go; what has CMS said about the 60-day rule; special considerations for Medicaid, Medicare Parts C and D, and overpayments due to Stark Law violations; and current enforcement actions involving the 60-day rule.
