International Mergers in the Pharmaceutical Industry

On Friday, November 22, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Philadelphia partner Paul Saint-Antoine will chair an ABA Antitrust Section program at the firm’s Washington D.C. office, entitled “International Mergers in the Pharmaceutical Industry”.  The panel will be composed on speakers from China, Brazil, Europe and the U.S., and it will include senior antitrust attorneys with Novartis and Abbott.

The panelists will address the challenges confronting pharmaceutical companies pursuing global mergers and the policies of the various competition authorities evaluating such transactions.  They will also discuss how pharmaceutical markets are currently defined in the context of international mergers.
