Due Diligence for Solar PV Projects Seminar

Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) and Their Role in Financing Solar Energy Projects

Overview

Christopher Berendt, Of Counsel to the firm’s Washington, D.C., office, will instruct a workshop at the EUCI seminar “Due Diligence for Solar PV Projects,” in Baltimore, Md., June 14, 2011.  The seminar will focus on the core areas of due diligence for photovoltaic (PV) projects — both utility-scale and distributed-generation — and provide a “blueprint” for their execution.

Chris, a member of the Environment & Energy Practice Group and leader of its Environmental Markets Team, will instruct a workshop on “Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) and Their Role in Financing Solar Energy Projects.”  He will discuss the origin and purpose of the REC/SREC markets and their role in driving solar energy investments, as well as the current status and projected growth of mid-Atlantic, California, New England, and other REC/SREC markets. Chris will also explore how these instruments are traded, monetized, and eventually retired in a life cycle that supports solar financing.
