CBP Prior Disclosure

Chicago partner Randy Rucker and Chicago Director of Trade Security & Supply Chain Services Karen Lobdell will speak at the PNC “Importer’s Roundtable.” Randy will address voluntary prior disclosures with customs, and his presentation will focus on: use of Prior Disclosure mechanism under customs law to mitigate/minimize risk; an overview of the Prior Disclosure process; and customs' recent treatment of prior disclosure filings and impact of increased environment of enforcement. Karen will discuss updates on import safety and security regulations, including the 100 percent Air Cargo Screening Mandate and its August 1, 2010, deadline; Importer Security Filing (10+2), including a status update on the graduated enforcement; C-TPAT, including updates on what changes to expect in 2010, as well as future plans for the program; and CPSIA, including an update on where things currently stand with enforcement dates and any news of interest on this topic.
