California Association of Private Postsecondary Schools

Overview

Washington, D.C., partner Jonathan Tarnow spoke at the California Association of Private Postsecondary Schools (CAPPS) 2012 Legislative Policy Conference in Sacramento, Ca., on Tuesday, April 24.   The membership of CAPPS consists of accredited institutions that are approved by the California Bureau of Private Postsecondary Education to offer educational services.

Jonathan participated in a discussion addressing federal regulatory issues affecting private postsecondary educational institutions.  The panel focused on recent U.S. Department of Education rulemakings, regulatory interpretations and enforcement activities, and discussed the new federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's jurisdiction over certain activities of educational institutions.
