Corporate partner Brittney Yocum joined a panel discussion titled “Selling a Privately Held Business” at a 2026 Business Owners Summit hosted by Edward Jones.

Yocum provided an overview of the legal process of selling a closely-held business, including owner preparation, deal structuring, due diligence, purchase agreements, closing and post-closing obligations. She also discussed how legal considerations throughout the transaction can affect a seller’s net proceeds, timeline, workload and ongoing responsibilities.
