Be Empowered: Old Policy Language, New Situations

Insurance partner Sandy Jones participated in a panel titled “Be Empowered:  Old Policy Language, New Situations” at the LTCIF 2025 Conference. 

The panel discussed the time gap between policy issuance in existing policy blocks and the date of claim continues to grow.  Facility types are changing, as is technology, types of care, and insureds’ desire to stay home longer. The panelists explored practical approaches to examining care needs, work through difficult scenarios, and discussed recent litigation and a Sixth Circuit appellate decision that addressed this specific issue in this hands-on workshop.
