Telehealth — Future or Fad

NATCON21

Webinar

Overview

Megan Herber spoke on a panel about the future of telehealth at the largest event in mental health and addictions care, NatCon, hosted by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. The panel included a health insurer and a mental health provider, and together they discussed the increased flexibilities for telemental health and substance use disorder treatment granted during the COVID-19 pandemic and whether those flexibilities could or should stay in place following the public health emergency. During the session, the panelists discussed not only the policies and their impact, but addressed questions about the differences between telehealth and in-person care and where telehealth can provide added value.
