Session 1 — What is the IoT and how does it Work; What You Need to Know
This session will focus on three areas: first, the definition and explanation of what the “Internet of Things” (IoT) is; second, important safety and security tips to better safeguard your IoT devices; and third, a discussion of new landmark legislative proposals from the United Kingdom regulating the safety and security of IoT devices.
Session 2 — The Ecosystem of loT and Relevant U.S. Legal and Regulatory Frameworks
Join us as we explore the IoT ecosystem and some of the new U.S. legal and regulatory frameworks and policies affecting its adoption and use. This session will outline the range of IoT devices, their potential applications, and how U.S. communications networks and ancillary systems make IoT function. Importantly, we will consider how IoT data collection and use affects society as a whole. We will also address the evolution of the U.S. communications “network of networks,” the federal regulatory structure, as well as considering how the multitude of granular data available from IoT devices can transform decision-making to be data driven.
