Jonathan Tarnow Speaks at Stetson University National Conference on Law and Higher Education

Washington, D.C., partner Jonathan Tarnow conducted a 2.5-hour session regarding the current federal legislative and regulatory landscape on postsecondary education law and policy at the 39th Annual Stetson University National Conference on Law and Higher Education. He discussed significant education policy developments and regulatory changes under the first year of the Trump administration, including Title IX and the Department of Education’s regulations on Gainful Employment and Borrower Defenses to Repayment. Jonathan also provided an overview of pending legislation to reauthorize the Higher Education Act of 1965, which is the primary law governing higher education and the federal student financial assistance programs. The conference, which took place from February 1-5, 2018, was attended by approximately 300 college and university general counsel and senior administrators.
