Christopher Berendt Moderated Panel of Public Utility Commissioners at the Microgrid 2017 Conference | The Grid of the Future – A Regulatory Perspective

Christopher Berendt, environment and energy partner in Washington, D.C., attended the Microgrid 2017 conference, where he moderated and participated in two panels. He moderated the panel, “The Grid of the Future – A Regulatory Perspective,” which explored the challenges that regulators face with the expansion of microgrid development and deployment. The panel, featuring several Public Utility Commissioners, discussed issues such as balancing innovation with consumer protection and investor confidence and developing useful regulatory models.

Christopher also spoke on a panel, “Microgrid Modeling – Technical, Economic and Regulatory,” that provided an overview and update on the work that the Microgrid Resources Coalition (MRC) and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) has done to develop a Distribution Grid Locational Value Model for the utilities industry.
