Hot Topics Program: The Regulatory and Litigation Climate of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act
Overview
Philadelphia partners Seamus Duffy, Michael Daly and Meredith Slawe participated in a CLE program on the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) for the Greater Philadelphia Association of Corporate Counsel (GPACC) on August 4, 2015. Seamus, Mike and Meredith were joined on the panel by Alycia Horn, Assistant General Counsel at Comcast Cable. The program, which was the first in GPACC’s “hot topics” series, was titled “The Regulatory and Litigation Climate of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. “ The panelists led a lively and interactive discussion of the statute’s requirements, recent regulatory activity (with emphasis on the FCC’s July 10th Declaratory Ruling and Order and related appeal in the D.C. Circuit), litigation trends, high-profile settlements and best practices for TCPA compliance.
