Milwaukee partner Robyn Shapiro spoke at the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs, Inc. (AAHRPP) 2012 Conference in Denver on Thursday, April 19.

AAHRPP promotes high-quality research through an accreditation process that helps organizations worldwide strengthen their human research protection programs. It is an independent, non-profit accrediting body that uses a voluntary, peer-driven, educational model to ensure that human research protection programs meet rigorous standards for quality and protection.

The focus of the conference was “Quality Human Research Protection Programs: Protecting Vulnerable Participants.”

Robyn gave a presentation titled, “Research Involving Participants with Diminished or No Capacity to Consent.”

She also participated in a panel discussion on “Defining Vulnerable Participants.”
