Faegre Drinker announced today that Andrew Charwat has joined the firm as chief financial officer, based in the New York City office.
Charwat leads Faegre Drinker’s finance function, partnering with firm leadership to strengthen financial performance, support data-driven decision-making, and advance the firm’s strategy. He brings more than 30 years of experience in financial management, strategic planning, business growth, and operational improvement, including extensive experience in the legal industry. Charwat is replacing Chief Financial Officer Laurie Schrader, who is retiring after more than 25 years at Faegre Drinker.
“Andrew knows how to turn financial insight into strong performance,” said Chief Operating Officer Nolan Kurtz. “His experience using data and technology to drive growth, improve operations, and drive value for clients make him a strong addition to our leadership team.”
Prior to joining Faegre Drinker, Charwat served as chief financial and strategy officer at an Am Law 100 firm, where he helped drive financial performance, business growth, technology modernization, and operational excellence. Throughout his career, he has held senior finance and operations leadership roles across the legal, financial services, business services, and pharmaceutical industries. He has made the strategic use of data and technology a core part of his approach to strengthening business performance and improving financial and operational outcomes.
“I’m excited to join a firm that is focused on both delivering strong results today and investing in what comes next,” said Charwat. “I look forward to working with Faegre Drinker's leaders to leverage financial insights and technology to enhance our operations, and support continued growth and exceptional client service.”
Charwat’s background spans financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury, pricing, billing and collections, financial systems, process improvement, and merger and acquisition integration.
Charwat earned his MBA in finance and management from Columbia Business School and his bachelor’s degree in economics from Haverford College.
