Merck CEO and Drinker Biddle Alumnus Ken Frazier Featured in The New York Times

Alumnus Kenneth C. Frazier was featured in The New York Times March 9 edition of “Corner Office,” which includes conversations with the world’s top chief executives in an effort to better understand where they’re coming from and how they deal with the challenges they face while also covering the big issues of the day. The article was also included in the March 11 Sunday Business Section.

In the article, Ken talks about race, justice and his break with President Trump as the first chief executive to resign from the presidential advisory board following the president’s response to an outburst of white nationalist violence in Charlottesville, Virginia. He also discusses some memorable experiences from his time with Drinker Biddle and why he initially chose to join the firm, in addition to his beliefs about what CEOs should be focused on and some advice for college graduates.

Currently, Ken is President, CEO and Chairman of the Board at Merck & Co., Inc. He joined the company in 1992 and has held a number of leadership positions, including President of Global Human Health, Vice President and General Counsel. Ken joined Drinker Biddle as a litigation associate in 1978 and was a partner at the firm when he left to join Merck. Ken received his bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University and his J.D. from Harvard University School of Law.
