Cheryl Orr Named One of the Daily Journal’s Top Women Lawyers in California

Managing partner Cheryl Orr was named as one of the Top Women Lawyers in California by the Daily Journal for the second consecutive year. The annual list recognizes women lawyers who demonstrate excellent lawyering and leadership skills in California.

In a profile of her accomplishments, the Daily Journal highlighted Cheryl’s defense of wage and hour class actions, including successes such as striking all state law claims from a hybrid class/collective action for a Fortune 50 company, and settling a statewide class action on a single plaintiff basis against one of the country’s most renowned plaintiffs’ lawyers.

Cheryl was honored with the award at a reception following the Daily Journal’s Women Leadership in Law event on May 23. She also served as co-chair of the inaugural event.

Cheryl is chair of the firm’s national Labor and Employment Group. She concentrates her practice on defending employers nationwide against complex wage and hour class, collective, and representative actions arising in industries including retail, health care, education, insurance, finance and manufacturing. She also has a long history of resolving wrongful termination, unfair competition and discrimination cases through a winning motion practice. In addition to litigation, she provides a full range of employment law counseling, audit and training services.
