Gina Kastel Named Next Vice Chair and Chief Operating Partner of Faegre Baker Daniels

The management board and partnership of Faegre Baker Daniels have appointed and confirmed Gina Kastel as vice chair and chief operating partner of the firm. She will succeed Tom Froehle, who will become FaegreBD’s next chair and managing partner when Andrew Humphrey reaches his term limit on March 1, 2017.

Kastel previously served as leader of the firm’s health care group and was elected to the firm’s management board in 2015. Shortly thereafter, she was appointed to the firm’s executive committee.

In 17 years of service to FaegreBD, Kastel has helped a wide range of health care and nonprofit clients navigate regulatory complexity and manage legal risk. She enjoys helping clients solve problems and takes a pragmatic, business-focused approach to client advising that will extend to her role as chief operating partner.

“Gina was the overwhelming choice of our board and partnership.  Her experience as a group leader, management board member and executive committee member position her exceptionally well to step in to the chief operating partner role,” Froehle said. “She is committed to our clients, our firm and our people. She will bring tremendous energy and creativity to our continuing efforts to innovate in a changing profession. ”

“As we celebrate five years as Faegre Baker Daniels, I could not be more pleased that Tom and Gina will lead the firm through the next chapter of continued growth,” said Andrew Humphrey, outgoing chair and managing partner.

Kastel received a bachelor’s degree with highest honors from the University of Notre Dame, and her J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School. She is located in the firm’s Minneapolis office.
