Elizabeth Ryder Promoted to Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Nexstar Media Group, Inc.

Drinker Biddle alumna Elizabeth Ryder has been promoted to Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Nexstar Media Group, Inc. The announcement followed the January 17 close of Nexstar Broadcasting Group’s acquisition of Media General, Inc. Elizabeth had served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Nexstar Broadcasting Group since May 2009. In her new role with the combined company, Elizabeth will continue to be responsible for Nexstar's legal strategy and all aspects of daily operations as General Counsel, including correspondence related to FCC regulatory compliance, programming and carriage negotiations, acquisitions and divestitures and other legal matters to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate corporate risk.

Prior to joining Nexstar, Elizabeth served as Vice President, Legal Affairs at First Broadcasting Operating, Inc. She joined the Washington, D.C. office of Drinker Biddle and Reath, LLP as an associate in 2002 and later became counsel. At the firm, she provided legal counsel to clients across the media and cable industries. Before joining the firm, Elizabeth served as an associate at Arter & Hadden. She received a BBA in Marketing and Advertising from the University of Texas at Austin and earned her J.D. from the George Washington University Law School.
