In Memoriam: Judge William Quillen

Former Delaware Supreme Court Justice William T. Quillen passed away suddenly and peacefully at the age of 81 on August 19.

Justice Quillen was Of Counsel at the firm’s Wilmington office from 2003 through 2013. He served on the Delaware Supreme Court from 1978 to 1983, and also served Delaware in the Superior court and Court of Chancery. Justice Quillen was also Secretary of State in Delaware from 1993 to 1994 under the administration of Gov. Tom Carper. In 2013, Gov. Jack Markell presented him with the Governor's Heritage Award for his contributions to the preservation, recognition and celebration of Delaware's heritage.

Justice Quillen graduated from Williams College in 1956, received his LL.B. from Harvard Law School, and an LL.M. from The University of Virginia School of Law.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at New Castle Presbyterian Church on Saturday, August 27, at 11:00 a.m.
