Cheryl Orr Listed in Daily Journal’s Top 100 California Women Lawyers

San Francisco Partner Cheryl Orr was recognized by the Daily Journal in their “Top Women Lawyers” list. This annual list published by California’s leading legal publication highlights the accomplishments of 100 women lawyers in California. Cheryl was one of only 26 women attorneys highlighted from Northern California and one of only two attorneys in Northern California who practice management-side labor and employment law.

The Journal highlighted Cheryl’s wage and hour class action experience and in particular, our team’s separate representations of both a national store merchandiser and a major national retailer. In the former,  we took over a putative class action from another law firm and with a shortened timeline were able to defeat class certification on all but one minor cause of action. In the latter, we compelled both a national wage and hour collective action/state class/PAGA action hybrid and a state wage and hour class/PAGA action to arbitration, each on a single plaintiff basis,  resulting ultimately in the plaintiffs dropping both cases.
