In Memoriam: A.C. Reeves Hicks

Our dear friend and former partner A.C. Reeves Hicks passed away on November 30, 2016, at the age of 92 at his home with his family by his side. He was a longtime Princeton resident, lawyer and community leader.

Reeves earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1949. After law school, he worked with the Warner Lambert Company Gallup and Robinson before returning to the law in 1950. Reeves became a partner at the law firm McCarthy and Hicks and later Smith, Lambert, Hicks and Miller. He subsequently joined Drinker Biddle as a member of the firm’s Private Client Practice Group before retiring from the firm in 1995.

Reeves is survived by his wife of 69 years, Joan; his sister, Joan Mitchell; his daughters, Andrea, Lindsey, Daren and Libby and sons-in-law; his nine grandchildren, his nieces and nephews and one great granddaughter.

A Gathering of Remembrance for Reeves will be held on December 26, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Stoneridge at Montgomery Retirement Community. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Princeton YMCA or a local charity in his name.
