Bob Stoll Quoted in Bloomberg BNA on Patent Quality Improvement
Washington, D.C., partner and co-chair of the IP group Bob Stoll was quoted in a Bloomberg BNA article titled, “PTO Asks if More Time Is Needed for Patent Examinations.”
The article discusses recent efforts by the United States Patent and Trademarks Office to improve patent quality, specifically by asking the patent community to weigh in on whether it should increase the time examiners spend reviewing patent applications. However, more time spent in the review process means higher application costs.
In the article, Bob says that despite the longer wait time and higher costs for application, “most of his clients would be willing to pay a little more and wait a little longer to get better patents.”
