In Memoriam: Jonathan (Jon) Kane

It is with great sadness that we report the unexpected passing of our former colleague, Jonathan (Jon) Kane, on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at his home in Bozman, MD.  Jon is survived by his wife of 20 years, Susan Wagner Kane; his daughter Tyler Kane Kennedy and children Gordon Rose, Charles Rose, Emily Rose; his brother, Andrew Littleton; and one grandchild.

Jon graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business in 1967 and earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia in 1973.  During law school, Jon was enlisted in the US army where he served with distinction, attaining the rank of 1st Lieutenant as a Special Forces operations officer while in Vietnam.  He was also awarded the Bronze Star Medal in 1971 for meritorious achievement in ground operations against hostile forces.

Jon began his legal career at the firm in 1973 and was resident in our former Berwyn, PA office through 1995.  Following his tenure with this firm, Jon joined Pepper Hamilton where he became partner in 1998.  Jon served as chairman of Pepper Hamilton's Labor and Employment Practice Group and was a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.

Our deepest condolences go out to Jon's family and friends.  You can read Jon's obituary here.
