Karen Moses Selected by Indiana Supreme Court to Participate in Commercial Court Working Group

On June 2, 2015, the Indiana Supreme Court unanimously approved a plan creating the Indiana Commercial Court Working Group (Commercial Court Working Group) – with the goal of having commercial courts operational by 2016. The Court selected Faegre Baker Daniels partner Karen Moses, along with several other judges, lawyers and legislators, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce president, and an Indiana University law professor, to participate.

Chief Justice Loretta H. Rush noted that commercial courts provide a “specialized court docket and procedure aimed to achieve fast, consistent and reliable resolution of commercial disputes.” The Court’s decision relied on the experiences of 22 other States with commercial courts, finding that they produced “faster case resolutions” that “provide confidence and predictability to guide how entities do business.” The Court has requested that the Commercial Court Working Group provide by October 2015 an initial report on its activities and a recommendation to establish commercial court pilot projects, if appropriate.

Moses focuses her practice at Faegre Baker Daniels on commercial litigation. For more than 25 years, she has represented business clients and individuals in all stages of commercial and real property litigation, including alternative dispute resolution, trial and appeal.
