President and CEO of Mercy Health, Michael D. Connelly, Receives the American Jewish Committee's 2015 National Human Relations Award

At the organization's tribute dinner on Monday, May 11, the American Jewish Committee (AJC) Cincinnati president, Rick Michelman, presented its 2015 National Human Relations Award to Michael D. Connelly, President and CEO of Mercy Health. The award acknowledged Mr. Connelly’s outstanding professional achievements, community leadership, and dedication to excellence.

The dinner took place at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza Hall of Mirrors. Michael was honored for his achievements in the Cincinnati health care community. The tribute dinner also raised funds for the global advocacy and human rights work of AJC, which advances freedom, liberty, tolerance, and mutual respect worldwide.

Michael has served as President and CEO of Mercy Health, Ohio’s largest healthcare system, since 1995. Prior to joining Mercy Health, Michael was the CEO of Daughters of Charity National Health System - West in Los Altos, California. He also served as President and CEO of St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago and was a member of the Health Care practice group of Garder Carton and Douglas in Chicago. Michael earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration, cum laude, and a master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He earned his J.D. degree from DePaul University.
