Gov. Chris Christie Nominates John Degnan As Chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey

On Tuesday, April 29, 2014 Gov. Chris Christie nominated alumnus John J. Degnan to be the Chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. If the nomination is confirmed by the state Senate, John will replace former Chairman David Samson, who stepped down in March.
John was the Attorney General of New Jersey from 1978 until 1981 when he joined Shanley & Fisher (nka Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP). John remained with the firm until 1990 when he became Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Chubb Corporation. John retired from Chubb in 2010 as Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer.
