Bob Shields Receives The Association of Delaware Valley Independent Schools 2014 Visionary Service Award

Alumnus Bob Shields received the 2014 ADVIS Visionary Service Award on November 12, 2014. In 2001, The Association of Delaware Valley Independent Schools (ADVIS) initiated its annual Award for Visionary Service, which recognizes an individual or organization for their commitment to independent education, celebrates the fact that its individual schools, and independent schools in general, are stronger and more viable for the gifts of talent, time, energy and resources of those who recognize the effects the schools have on society. The 2014 award was presented to Bob on November 12, 2014 at ADVIS's Annual Trustee Conference.
ADVIS commented that "Bob is well respected by his board colleagues for his ideas and opinions, particularly around critical decision-making and independent school leadership. He attends virtually every school governance professional development event that ADVIS offers, and has twice served on the panel for our Board Chair Workshop". Bob was the second member of the Drinker Biddle & Reath alumni community to win the award. Real Estate partner Rush Haines received the honor in 2010.
Bob graduated from Archmere Academy and received his A.B. degree from the College of the Holy Cross and his LLB. from New York University School of Law, where he was a Root-Tilden-Kern scholar. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association, a former member of the American Bar Association’s Committee on Corporate Laws and a life member of the American Law Institute.
Currently, Bob is President and CEO of Lakeview Capital, Inc and Vice Chairman of Questor Partners Holdings, Inc. Prior to the founding of Questor in late 1994, Bob was a senior partner here at the firm where he served many roles including head of our corporate and securities practice group, as the firm's CFO and a managing partner.
Bob has served for the last six years as a member of the Board of Trustees of Archmere Academy, with three of those years as Chairman of the Board. He also served on the Board in the 1990s. In addition to serving as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Archmere Academy, Bob is a member of the Board of Trustees of Rosemont School of the Holy Child and a member of the Board of Financial Advisors of Daylesford Abbey in Paoli, Pennsylvania.
