Drinker Biddle NJ Real Estate Practice Earns Top Ranking in 2013 Chambers USA Guide

Chambers USA once again places Drinker Biddle in the highest tier of Real Estate law firms in New Jersey. The publication’s annual rankings, with commentary, are based on client and peer references, as well as information gathered from firms and Chambers’ own independent database resources. Given both nationally and regionally, the rankings are based on technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, commitment and other qualities.

Regarding Drinker Biddle’s New Jersey Real Estate team, Chambers note sources for saying: "The quality of their work is exceptional. They are always willing to do everything it takes to get the job done."

KEY INDIVIDUALS. Chambers USA also continued to place Michael Rothpletz and Glenn Pantel in the highest level for the areas of Real Estate and Real Estate: Zoning/Land Use, respectively.

Clients and peers praised Mr. Rothpletz for his “extraordinary focus” and that “he never loses sight of the end goal, does not get side tracked by ego and is very bright and an excellent negotiator." Market sources had also described him as being “very talented and extremely knowledgeable” in complicated real estate transactional and litigation work.

The "meticulous" and "efficient" Mr. Pantel is considered an authority on zoning and land use law. Sources reported that "he always makes you feel that your concerns are his concerns and he is also a very good creative thinker." These remarks supplement prior Chambers reports that clients view Mr. Pantel as “one of the finest land use attorneys in New Jersey.”

DEALS OF THE YEAR.
The rankings reflect the high-level deals undertaken by Drinker Biddle’s New Jersey Real Estate Group. Transactions handled by the team continued to receive recognition at NAIOP NJ’s 26th Annual Commercial Real Estate Awards Gala in May.

The 2013 Creative Deal of the Year Award was given to the transformation and lease of functionally obsolete buildings in Parsippany as headquarters for Biomet Spine and Bone Healing Technologies and Ferring Pharmaceuticals. Representing Biomet, our team, led by partner Michael Woodruff, was involved in the carefully coordinated headquarters relocation.

Our New Jersey Real Estate team has been involved in several Deal of the Year transactions in previous years, including Panasonic’s US headquarters in Newark and Realogy’s US headquarters in Madison.
