Washington, D.C. (21-July-2010) — Libby Baney of B&D Consulting has been invited to serve as a panelist at the Western States Surplus Line Conference in Whistler, British Columbia, on July 22.

Baney will speak on a panel titled "Lobbying in Washington, D.C.," where she will participate in a discussion that will highlight best practices for assessing, advocating, impacting and responding to federal legislation.

Baney will be joined by Robert Gordon, Senior Vice President for Policy Development and Research at PCI, and Steve Stephan, Director of Government Relations to the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices, Ltd. (NAPSLO). The panel will be moderated by Richard M. Bouhan, Executive Director of NAPSLO.

Baney will provide insight from her experience lobbying Congress on the Nonadmitted and Reinsurance Reform Act, legislation that she and Maria Berthoud, also of B&D Consulting, have championed on behalf of NAPSLO and the Surplus Lines and Reinsurance Coalition over the last several years.
