Drinker Biddle Partner Neil Olderman Named Outstanding Healthcare Fraud & Compliance Lawyer by Nightingale’s Healthcare News

Neil Olderman, a partner in the Chicago office of Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP and chair of the firm’s Health Law Practice Group, has been named one of 12 “Outstanding Healthcare Fraud & Compliance Lawyers – 2009” in the May 2009 issue of Nightingale’s Healthcare News, a bi-monthly newsletter for professionals serving the health care industry, health care executives and others.

Olderman was recognized for successfully defending a community hospital in a Medicare False Claims Act investigation of potential DRG upcoding and a dialysis provider in a Medicare investigation of its billing and coding practices. He was also recognized for his work counseling and advising hospitals on compliance with the federal Medicare/Medicaid Anti-Kickback Statute.

Olderman’s practice involves counseling and advising heath care providers, medical device manufacturers, distributors and health industry service providers in compliance matters and transactional matters including outsourcing arrangements, joint ventures and strategic affiliations. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science and public affairs from Indiana University and his J.D. from the Columbus School of Law, Catholic University of America. He is a member of the Illinois Bar, the American Bar Association, the American Health Lawyers Association and the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys.
