Drinker Biddle Partner Richard Goldman Receives Princeton Family YMCA Centennial Award

Richard S. Goldman, a partner in the Princeton office of Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, will be one of six distinguished individuals honored with this year’s Princeton Family YMCA’s Centennial Award at a special reception October 27, 2009. Goldman supervises Drinker Biddle’s Real Estate Practice Group in Princeton.

Named for the YMCA’s 100-Year milestone, the Centennial Award recognizes honorees in a different profession or field of achievement each year. The theme of this year’s Centennial Award is “Green and On the Scene: Visionary people dedicated to sustaining our planet and its resources.” Goldman and the other honorees will be recognized as “remarkable people who have made a difference in our region by demonstrating outstanding commitment and leadership to environmental advocacy and stewardship, sustainability, conservation and other green initiatives, and who consistently demonstrate the YMCA's four core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in their actions.”

Goldman, who serves on the board of trustees of numerous civic, charitable and educational institutions, is being recognized for his work as chairman of the D&R Greenway Land Trust. During his 19 years with the Trust, the Greenway has facilitated the preservation of 14,000 acres of land in New Jersey, valued in excess of $300 million. In addition, Goldman directed the development of the 10,000 square foot Johnson Education Center in Princeton, the headquarters of the Trust and focus of community service, education and land preservation.
