Faegre & Benson Advises Geo Genesis Group on its Admission To Trading on PLUS

Faegre & Benson LLP advised Geo Genesis Group Ltd (Geo Genesis or GGG) on its admission to trading on the PLUS-quoted market of PLUS Markets plc, which became effective on 8 April 2008. Simon Holden led the transaction from the Faegre & Benson London office, assisted by Robert Darwin, Kamalprit Lally, Simon Hughes and James Barker. He was also assisted by Theresa Dykoschak in the Minneapolis office.

Geo Genesis is an emerging markets advisory and investment company focusing primarily in China. Through a global network of consultants, advisers and other alliances, the company raises capital, conducts research and provides advisory services such as designing and implementing corporate restructuring programmes and marketing strategies for investee companies. Its aim is to enhance the business productivity of investee companies thereby enabling them to move into the next growth phase.

GGG is a Marshall Islands registered company with its principal place of business in Qingdao, China. The deal included a number of cross-border elements, which involved United States and Marshall Islands law. The firm will be working closely with Geo Genesis in the future, utilizing the services of its Shanghai office to develop more cross-border work in China.

Simon Holden commented:

"We are delighted to have acted for GGG on this transaction. This is the first instruction for us from Geo Genesis, and we anticipate working with the team again very soon given the synergies we encountered on the deal, not least the cross-border opportunities presented by China and our mutual presence there. GGG listed in tough market conditions which illustrated both the determination of management to get across the finishing line and the continuing attraction of a London quotation.

We wish the Geo Genesis management team every success in their future endeavours and look forward to working with them again soon."
