Drinker Biddle Partner to Co-Chair Hedge Fund Regulation and Compliance Symposium
PHILADELPHIA, PA (March 25, 2004) - Michael P. Malloy, a partner of Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP and head of its Investment Management Group, will co-chair and serve as a panelist at Institutional Investor’s Hedge Fund Regulation & Compliance Symposium. The symposium will be held on March 30, 2004 at the Union League Club in New York City.
Regulation and compliance are two of the most far-reaching issues facing the investment world today. As cases of abuse and fraud continue to be unearthed, the SEC is increasing its scrutiny of hedge funds and their managers. This symposium will provide a forum for senior-level executives from hedge funds, outside and in-house lawyers for hedge funds, government organizations and investors to discuss and debate the heated issues impacting the foundation of hedge fund regulation and compliance both today and in the future.
The program includes presentations from Patrick McCarty, General Counsel at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Michael Schwenk, Partner at Oak Hill Platinum Partners, Mark K. Schonfeld, Associate Director of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Northeast Office, as well as other industry and policy leaders. The seminar will address timely topics such as recent hedge fund enforcement actions, registration vs. existing CFTC regulation, sales and marketing compliance and anti-money laundering implications for hedge funds.
