Drinker Biddle Associate Dottie Bolinsky Named Young Lawyer of the Year

PRINCETON, NJ (December 10, 2004) -- Dorothy “Dottie” Bolinsky has been named Young Lawyer of the Year by the Mercer County Bar Association (MCBA). The award was presented to Bolinsky at a recent MCBA charity event in Trenton. Bolinsky was recognized for her tireless dedication and significant contributions to the MCBA, legal profession and community.

“It’s a great thing to be honored by your colleagues and everyone at Drinker extends their congratulations to Dottie for receiving this well-deserved award,” said Jonathan I. Epstein, partner in charge of Drinker’s Princeton office. “We’re very proud of her efforts for the MCBA as well as her commitment to pro bono work within the community,” Epstein continued.

“Dottie has been a great catalyst for activity within the Mercer County Bar Association,” said Hal K. Haveson, President, MCBA. “Her efforts have brought together attorneys from around the county and enhanced the communication between a wide variety of real estate professionals in New Jersey.”

“It was a great honor to receive this award and to be recognized by my peers,” said Bolinsky. “Working with the Mercer County Bar Association, and in particular with the Real Estate Section, has provided many exciting challenges. I’m gratified to know that my colleagues have both enjoyed and professionally benefited from the programs we’ve created.”

Bolinsky joined the Mercer County Bar Association in 1997 and immediately got involved with the Real Estate Section, for lawyers whose practices involve real estate and land use matters, as well as real estate agents, title agents, mortgage lenders, developers and other professionals in the real estate industry. Her first contribution was the development of the MCBA Lawyer/Broker Seminar and Dinner in 2000, which has since become an annual event.

Following the success of that event, Bolinsky was elected to serve as a Trustee of the Real Estate Section, and later, a trustee of the MCBA. She has served as Vice-Chair and Chair of the Real Estate Section, and continues today as a Trustee. Thereafter, Bolinsky helped develop and co-chaired the Mercer County Real Estate Professionals Golf Outing – another successful event for the association.

Pro bono work is also important to Bolinsky, and was another factor in her being honored. She has provided pro bono services to various non-profit organizations including the D&R Greenway, the Latin American Economic Development Association, Inc., and Assisted Living, Inc., a non-profit organization with the mission to develop quality assisted living facilities for low-income senior citizens. Bolinsky represented the organization in the acquisition and financing of property in Ewing Township.

Bolinsky focuses her practice on real estate transactions and land use development. She represents clients ranging from individuals to Fortune 500 companies in all facets of commercial and residential real estate. She also represents developers throughout the state guiding them through the land use planning process.
