Mary Grace Smith advises clients in regulatory, compliance and transactional matters related to privacy, cybersecurity and clinical research issues.
Privacy, Cybersecurity, Data Ethics & Strategy
Mary Grace counsels clients across a range of industries and sectors — including health and life sciences, financial services, technology and manufacturing — on navigating complex data protection regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, GLBA CAN-SPAM Act, TCPA, and other emerging privacy statutes and regulations.
In particular, she works closely with clients to understand their privacy and cybersecurity compliance obligations, develop internal and external privacy policies and procedures, draft and negotiate data protection agreements, and guide clients through privacy and cybersecurity considerations in mergers and acquisitions.
Prior Experience
During law school, Mary Grace was a summer associate at Faegre Drinker. She was also a judicial extern for Justice Mark S. Massa of the Indiana Supreme Court. Prior to law school, Mary Grace was an investment banking associate in the health care group at William Blair.
Personal Interests
Mary Grace enjoys reading, gardening, hiking and spending time with family.
