Overview

Mike Pompeo leads the firm’s finance and restructuring practice group. Mike is the guy you call when dealing with a financially distressed company. With over 25 years of experience in corporate restructuring, Mike provides sound practical advice to creditors, debtors and trustees on transactions, bankruptcies, corporate insolvencies and related litigation, including complex mass tort liability.

Corporate Restructuring

With extensive experience in all stages of complex restructuring transactions, Mike is a trusted adviser to clients facing in-court and out-of-court reorganizations, capital restructurings, acquisitions and divestitures. He has handled numerous cases in the manufacturing, financial services, real estate, senior living care and retail industries.

Troubled companies and their boards often turn to Mike when nearing the “zone of insolvency.” He represents debtors, trustees, receivers, committees, borrowers, lenders, creditors, investors, sellers and purchasers.

Mike also represents insurers in mass tort Chapter 11 cases involving asbestos, environmental, product liability and special liability claims. He currently serves as the state court receiver in a multimillion-dollar securities fraud Ponzi scheme.

Personal Interests

In his spare time, Mike is an avid golfer. He can hurl irons at small objects with deadly accuracy. He’s rarely on par and has never bogeyed the 19th hole. Legend has it that while playing a round at Paiute Golf Resort in Vegas, a rattlesnake bit him. After five days of excruciating pain, the snake died.
