Overview

Jesse Marks advocates for clients in a range of complex commercial litigation matters in both state and federal courts. He thrives in high-pressure and high-stakes matters and enjoys working collaboratively with clients and colleagues throughout all phases of litigation.

Jesse's multifaceted litigation practice includes matters concerning appeals, class actions, FINRA arbitrations, trade secrets and antitrust law. He has secured victories for clients in federal court on motions to dismiss, motions on the pleadings, motions for summary judgment and on appeal at the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. He was part of a litigation team that defended a client in a months-long trial involving a complex commercial dispute with more than $500 million in liability at stake. He also recently defended a leading financial institution against a $10 million claim in arbitration, winning a complete liability defense as well as an award of attorneys' fees. In his appellate practice, Jesse is bolstered by his background as a clerk in the chambers of Justice Richard L. Gabriel of the Colorado Supreme Court.

Jesse is committed to pro bono work and has represented clients in immigration proceedings in both district and appellate federal courts, habeas appeals, and child permanency hearings.

Prior to law school, Jesse was a professional ballet dancer for 13 years, performing all over the country including, most notably, as a soloist dancer with the Colorado Ballet and a principal dancer in productions of the Metropolitan Opera in New York City.
