Overview
Zach Kachmer leverages his engineering background to support clients in high-tech industries to protect and defend their intellectual property. He enjoys diving into the technical details of his cases to find the claims and defenses that will win over the court and the jury. Zach is experienced in a range of technologies, handling patents and trade secrets directed to wireless networking technology, power electronics, operating system software, signal processing algorithms, medical implants and consumer products.
IP and Patent Litigation
Zach’s experience in the various stages of litigation — drafting and arguing motions, preparing technical expert reports, taking and defending depositions — gives him insight into how to advance clients’ interests at each stage of a case. He has experience in some of the most active patent litigation venues, including in the Western District of Texas, where Zach was part of a team that secured a rare complete defense verdict in a patent infringement lawsuit. He has also represented both patent owners and patent challengers in Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) proceedings, where Zach has a track record of achieving favorable outcomes for clients.
Personal Interests
Zach enjoys road biking when it’s sunny, skiing when it’s snowy, and watching movies, cooking or reading when it’s neither. He also supports his hometown Denver sports teams, win or lose.
