Overview

Michael Hirak advises clients on complex property law issues, with a strong focus on eminent domain proceedings. He routinely represents property owners and condemning authorities, guiding clients through case evaluation, real estate valuation and the appraisal process, negotiations with government entities, and litigation to secure fair outcomes and protect property rights.

Michael also handles a wide range of real estate and construction matters, including commercial lease disputes, adverse possession and quiet title actions, easement disputes, construction and design defects, construction delay claims, and zoning and land use issues. He is committed to delivering tailored legal counsel that empowers clients to make strategic decisions aligned with their business objectives.

Prior Experience

Before joining Faegre Drinker, Michael served as an associate at a law firm working in eminent domain and real estate litigation.

During law school, Michael served as a legal intern in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Minnesota. In that capacity, he assisted attorneys with developing trial strategy, conducted legal research, and drafted trial-related motions.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, Michael enjoys hiking and traveling with his fiancée and two dogs and is an avid Minnesota sports fan.
