Overview

James Fitzsimmons represents private equity and growth equity funds, family offices, high-net-worth individuals, emerging growth technology companies, and public and private companies with domestic and cross-border growth equity investments, venture capital investments, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, equity and debt financings, joint ventures and other complex transactions. Jamie regularly serves as outside general counsel to clients. He provides counsel to senior executives, boards of directors and private equity sponsors on a wide variety of issues, assisting with business strategy, debt and equity financings, executive compensation, governance, intellectual property and related matters. Jamie principally advises clients involved in the financial technology, financial services, consumer financial, software, digital media, blockchain and digital assets, pharmaceutical, telecommunications and e-commerce industries, but he has broad experience across many other industries, including traditional media, solid waste, consumer product and cosmetics.

Jamie served as a law clerk to the Honorable Richard Newman, J.A.D. in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division.

Personal Interests

Jamie is an avid downhill skier in the winter and enjoys sailing, golf and tennis whenever there is not snow nearby.
