Overview
Reid is a member of the firm’s intellectual property group. With a focus on patent disputes, Reid represents clients in federal courts and tribunals throughout the country, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and district courts in Third, Fifth, Seventh, Eighth and Ninth Circuits. He also represents clients in the International Trade Commission and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution of the American Arbitration Association.
Drawing off of his experience working in the powertrain group of an electric/hybrid electric vehicle company, Reid provides practical and strategic counseling for defending against and asserting patent rights related to a range of technologies, including everything from integrated circuits and optical discs to recreational vehicles and inflatable products.
A significant portion of Reid’s practice also includes representing clients before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. With experience representing both petitioners and patent owners, Reid has a successful track record counseling clients through inter partes review and post-grant review proceedings.
Outside of patent disputes, Reid also represents clients in trademark matters, breach of contract claims, corporate governance disputes, franchise matters and maintains an active immigration law pro bono practice.
