Susan Carlson supports clients with transactional, restructuring and litigation matters, focusing on commercial loan facilities, debt reorganization, document review and production. Susan is a solutions-based problem solver who takes complete ownership of project responsibilities with a “think outside the box” mentality.

Transactional, Restructuring & Litigation Matter Support

Susan assists with matters involving the following:

  • Secured, unsecured, syndicated and acquisition credit facilities
  • Asset, real estate and agricultural backed financing
  • Tribal and cross-border financing
  • Private equity and portfolio finance transactions
  • Airline and railcar finance
  • Restructuring of underperforming loans and work outs
  • Adversary complaints and bankruptcy related litigation
  • Team development and knowledge management

Prior Experience

Susan has extensive experience, including:
  • Securitization of assets, including UCC/EFS financing statements, real property and ship mortgages, pledges and grants of security interests in stocks, intellectual property, aircraft, railcars and vessels
  • Preparation and management of transaction documents
  • Due diligence, lien and asset review, retrieval of corporate documents
  • Authentication and legalization of documents
  • Provided in-house paralegal support to a firm client
  • Corporate and consumer bankruptcy and foreclosure
  • Bankruptcy procedural filings
  • Chapter 11 debtor representation in three jointly administered bankruptcy cases filed in the Central District of California bankruptcy court
  • Review nationally filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy petitions for client case involvement
  • Creditor’s committees and trustee representation 

Personal Interests

Susan recently had the adventure of a lifetime traveling to Iceland to experience the phenomenon of the aurora borealis and an icy hike on a glacier.
