Utilizing Alternative Strategies in Investment Companies

The growing demand for "alternative" investment strategies has caused a large increase in the number of hedge funds, private equity funds, commodity pools and other non-traditional investment vehicles over the past several years. In response to this demand, investment advisory firms have been creating alternative registered products such as registered funds of hedge funds, long/short mutual funds and currency and commodity based mutual funds.
