EDA Grant Helps Redevelop Four Vacant Automotive Manufacturing Sites

United States - Indiana

With four vacant automotive manufacturing plants, a metropolitan city was eyeing multiple redevelopment challenges. To address these challenges, the Economic Development Administration (EDA) awarded the city a $157,392 grant to assist with planning efforts after our firm identified opportunities, advised the city on preparation and completion of a successful grant application, and worked with EDA officials prior to and following its submission.

The city is analyzing the manufacturing sites — representing 389 acres of industrial land and nearly 5 million square feet of buildings — to determine how it could be redeveloped to meet current demand for industrial property or what alternative uses might be feasible for the sites.
